Omni-ID Max Product Review
In the large durable asset tag class, the Omni-ID Max dominated our distance tests even against tags twice its size and more than double its price - earning it a Wizard's Choice Award.
Performance Tests:
In the large durable asset tag class, the Omni-ID Max is the smallest of the tags we evaluated. Yet, it achieved the furthest read ranges of any passive RFID tag we have ever tested - over 38 feet away on metal. In our liquid tests, it read 9 feet away on water and nearly 3 feet away when submerged in water. This should prove to the industry that UHF tags work with metal and liquids.
Durability:
All of the Omni-ID tags have an IP-68 rating. IP-68 is the highest rating for the durable tags. The temperature tolerances are respectable and we like the option to use either adhesive, bolt or rivet methods of attachment.
Features and Price:
With 240 bits of memory, the Max can hold your EPC data and more. There is also a European-tuned version available. The Max is one of the least expensive tags - even less than some of the smaller tags. Delivery time only took a week.
With the longest read distances on any material, the smallest form factor of its class, an IP-68 durability rating, and one of the lowest prices, the only people that won't like the Omni-ID Max is the competition. It is is an outstanding product and a Wizard's choice.
The Omni-ID Max comes in two form factors: an ABS encased durable tag and a smaller, less expensive, label finished tag. Our team focused this evaluation on the ABS encased model.
